I have cut grass with pretty much any type of machine known to man. I have a 52" scag hydro with a kawasaki that cuts like a monster. I have had Exmarx, bobcat, john deere, wheel horse great dane- you name it.

I bought a mid mount mower deck for my BX2200 and tried it on my grass that was about 9" high and WET. This thing ripped through it in high range full blown and never even thought of bogging down. The blade spped evn at 2/3 throttle is incredible.

If you have been on the fence like me to buy a deck for your little 3 cyl diesel go buy one.

Even with the wet grass I ended up with a nice looking quality cut and my grass is well fertilized and thick.

Not all decks are created equal! Look at the drive belt on the BX deck which is what is used on many of the Kubota's and you won't find anyone else that strong. Look at the bearing locations compared to the pulley and the blade, not much room for leverage there to hinder the strength either. Although the stamped steel decks have their weaknesses air flow is not normally one of them if well designed. I've always found it tough to flow a square corner! ....

can't vouch for BX but my L3130GST W/RC72-38MMM which is a 72" cut, has no problem with 9" wet grass and is a monster also and a pleasure to mow with. easy on and off if you have a front loader. very heavy duty deck!!!!!! ....
